How to Check Your NECO Result

How to view your NECO SSCE grades on the official results portal using a valid token, and how to buy that token safely.

Step by step

1. Buy a NECO tokenGet a valid result token from the official NECO portal at https://neco.gov.ng or its results portal. Confirm the current price and any charges on the portal itself before paying.
2. Open the results portalIn a browser, go to https://results.neco.gov.ng. Confirm the web address so you are not on a look-alike site.
3. Select the examination yearChoose the year you sat the exam, for example 2026, from the dropdown.
4. Choose the examination typeSelect your exam type, such as SSCE Internal or External. Choosing the wrong type is a common reason a result fails to load.
5. Enter your tokenType in your NECO result token exactly as issued, then click Check Result.
6. View and keep your resultYour scores appear on screen. Print the page or save it, and store the token safely in case you need to view again within its allowed uses.

What you need

To view your National Examinations Council (NECO) Senior School Certificate Examination result online you need two things: your examination details and a valid NECO result token. NECO uses a token system rather than a physical scratch card for checking results, so the token is the key that unlocks your grades on the portal. Have your exam year and the correct exam type ready, and make sure the token you hold was bought for your own result.

Getting your token the safe way

Buy your token from the official NECO portal so you know it is genuine and unused. Prices and the small service or gateway charges attached to a token change from year to year, so rather than trusting a figure quoted on a random blog, confirm the current amount on the NECO portal at the moment you pay. Tokens offered very cheaply on social media are a common trap: many are fake or already spent, and you only discover this after the portal rejects them. If any seller asks for your bank PIN, card details or a portal password to “assist” you, treat it as fraud and stop.

Choosing the right exam type and year

A large share of “my result is not showing” complaints come down to a simple mismatch: the wrong examination type or the wrong year selected on the portal. NECO runs different examinations, so select the exact type for your sitting, then the correct year, before entering your token. If your details are all correct and nothing displays, the results for your exam may not have been released yet; wait and try later instead of buying extra tokens.

Checking versus verifying

It helps to know there are two different NECO portals. The results portal, results.neco.gov.ng, is where you as a candidate view your own grades with a token. The separate e-Verify portal, everify.neco.gov.ng, is what schools, universities and employers use to confirm that a result is authentic. For your own result check, stay on the results portal.
