About SabiGuide
An independent editorial team that turns Nigeria's confusing public-service processes into clear, verified, step-by-step guides — with your safety first.
Who we are
SabiGuide is an independent editorial project run by a small team of Nigerian writers, researchers and editors who were tired of losing whole afternoons to badly designed government portals. We are not a government agency, we are not affiliated with any ministry, department or parastatal, and we do not act on behalf of NIMC, JAMB, WAEC, NECO, NYSC, the Nigeria Immigration Service, the FRSC, the CBN or any bank. We are simply a publisher of plain-language guides.
When we say “independent”, we mean it in the plainest way: no public body writes, reviews or approves our work, and nobody pays us to change what a guide says. Our only relationship with the agencies we write about is that of any member of the public reading their official notices.
Why this site exists
Two problems pushed us to start SabiGuide. First, the official experience is often painful — portals that time out, notices buried in PDFs, fees quoted in one place and contradicted in another, and instructions written for insiders rather than ordinary applicants. Second, that confusion is a goldmine for scammers. Clone websites, fake “fast-track” agents and WhatsApp fraudsters thrive precisely because people cannot tell the real process from the fake one.
SabiGuide answers both problems at once: we explain the genuine process clearly, and we point you back to the real official portal every single time, so you never have to guess.
Our mission
Our mission is to make everyday Nigerian public services understandable, so that any person — with any level of digital confidence — can complete a NIN enrolment, a JAMB registration, a WAEC result check, an NYSC step or a passport application without paying a middleman or falling for a scam.
What we cover
We write about the services Nigerians use most:
- NIMC and the National Identification Number (NIN)
- NIBSS, the CBN and everyday banking, including the Bank Verification Number (BVN)
- JAMB, WAEC and NECO examinations and results
- NYSC registration, mobilisation and clearance
- Nigeria Immigration Service passport processes
- FRSC driver’s licence and vehicle matters
- Scam-safety and how to recognise fake portals and agents
Every guide is built from official sources. You can read exactly how in our guide to how we verify our guides.
What we will never do
Our promises to you are absolute. SabiGuide will never:
- Ask for or collect your BVN, NIN, One-Time Password (OTP), account passwords or card PINs
- Claim to be a government agency or to be affiliated with one
- Offer to process an application, “fast-track” a result or sell examination PINs
- Tell you to submit sensitive details anywhere except the genuine official portal
No genuine agency, bank or examination body will ever ask you for your OTP, password or card PIN. Neither will we.
How we are funded
SabiGuide is funded by advertising. Ads help us keep every guide free to read. Advertising is kept strictly separate from our editorial work: advertisers do not see guides before publication, cannot commission or edit them, and cannot influence what a guide recommends. If a guide ever mentions a paid product, we will say so plainly.
Our commitment to accuracy — and corrections
Fees, portal designs, USSD codes and requirements change often in Nigeria. We date each guide, review them on a schedule, and describe fees as accurate “as of” a year while urging you to confirm the current amount on the official portal. Despite our care, mistakes can slip through. If you spot one, please tell us at [email protected] or via our contact page — we investigate every report and correct verified errors promptly. This site offers general information only and is not legal or financial advice.
