How to Check Your JAMB Admission Status on CAPS

CAPS is JAMB's official admission system; here is how to log in, read your status correctly, and respond to an offer.

Step by step

1. Log in to eFacilityGo to https://efacility.jamb.gov.ng and sign in with the registration email and password tied to your JAMB profile. Use Forgot Password if needed.
2. Open Access My CAPSOn your dashboard, click Access My CAPS. This opens the Central Admissions Processing System, JAMB's official admission platform.
3. Select Admission StatusChoose the Admission Status option, pick the correct examination year and, if prompted, enter your registration number to load your record.
4. Read your status carefullyYour status shows whether an offer has been made, by which institution and for which course. If no offer exists yet, the Accept and Reject buttons stay greyed out.
5. Accept or reject the offerIf admitted, click Accept to take the offer or Reject to decline it. CAPS records the choice at once, so be certain before you click.

What CAPS is

The Central Admissions Processing System, known as CAPS, is the official platform JAMB uses to manage admissions into Nigerian tertiary institutions. Institutions make their offers through CAPS, and you as a candidate must log in to see any offer and to accept or reject it. Because acceptance now happens on CAPS rather than by a phone call or a printed letter, checking your status yourself is the only reliable way to know where you stand.

What you need to log in

You reach CAPS through your eFacility dashboard, so you sign in with the email address and password attached to your JAMB profile, the same credentials you use to check your JAMB result and to print your result slip. If you cannot remember your password, the Forgot Password link resets it to your registered email, so make sure you can open that inbox. Reading your status correctly

Once inside Access My CAPS, open Admission Status and read it carefully. The status tells you whether an offer has been made, which institution made it and for which course. If no offer has been extended, the Accept and Reject buttons will appear greyed out; this is normal and simply means you are still waiting, not that anything is wrong. Offers can be published at different points in the cycle, so log in regularly rather than checking once and giving up.

Accepting or rejecting

When an offer appears, the Accept and Reject buttons become active. This is the most important moment, because CAPS records your choice immediately and you can accept only once. Accepting takes the offer; rejecting declines it and can release your slot to another candidate, with no guarantee of a further offer in that cycle. Read the institution and course shown before you click, and never let anyone rush you into a decision.

Deadlines and staying safe

JAMB sets an admission deadline for each cycle, and offers left unaccepted past that date can be lost. Confirm the current deadline on official JAMB channels and respond in good time. Finally, be alert to “admission agents” who promise to secure a place for a fee: admission is decided on CAPS alone, no one can guarantee an offer, and handing over your login or money only exposes you to fraud.
